Staying Accountable

I think one of the biggest factors in my current journey has to be staying accountable. SparkPeople is a major player in that accountability. I want to publish my losses, win my own daily challenges with my log, and see how many steps I can get with my Fitbit. So many times I've said, "No one cares but me. I'm only hurting myself. Who's going to know?" I do care. I'm tired of being overweight. And I'm going to know. Even if psychologically I'm only staying accountable to myself, that's what is praying me forward. I joined a gym. I'm now paying $25 a month. That is a huge factor for me! I have to go to justify the money spent. It also helps that my gym has a 12-week program. If my body composition doesn't change and I've logged in 3 times a week for 12 weeks, I get all of my money back. I'm hoping for the first time ever that I don't get ANY of it back. But it keeps me going because I'm ACCOUNTABLE to myself and now the gym. My friends are expecting great things from me. I've convinced some of them to join with me. They are expecting to meet up with me on certain days. My daughter has joined with me. She wants to get toned and stronger. She expects me to work out with her some days. These are just little things, but they have all made a huge difference. Staying accountable has helped me to stay determined.
