I've been on Sparkpeople for a few years. Originally I lost 30 pounds by tracking everything, walking everyday, and following a low sugar, healthy diet.After maintaining for 2 years, I got complacent. I started drinking more sodas, eating more chips, thinking it's just a few pounds. Then I got to a point in my life where I decided I wanted the food more than the health. Last March I recommitted myself to becoming more healthy. By following Spark and getting involved in teams, tracking and eating healthy, I lost the 30 pounds that I had regained.
In the past few months, I have again become complacent and gained 5 pounds back. Today I take my life back and recommit to becoming healthy. I'm a member of the Summer 5% Challenge on the Shooting Stars team. This team has been a great help to me. I also joined the Small Goals Commitment team lead by Chris Sparkguy. I'm focusing on small changes that I can succeed and then add more challenging goals.
So I'm committing to 10+ fitness a day (except Saturday when I work 12 hour shifts and have to get to bed early for another 8am 12 hour shift.)
Drinking at least 8 cups of water
Going to bed by 11
Eating produce everyday
Looking at my goals everyday.
When these have become a constant habit, I'll add more. So wish me luck and say a prayer.
