Weight Gain

I had to go to ER last night as my daughter informed me that it was urgent and I couldn't wait until today to see my doctor. They confirmed that I have a UTI...no fun but at least I caught it before it was too bad. emoticon

Anyway, when they weighed me, I was so disappointed. I haven't been weighing myself daily or even weekly like I used to do. Going through some old papers today, I discovered that I have gained 9 pounds since I last saw my doctor on May 9th emoticon This is AWFUL!!! I'm not sure how I could gain this much when I have really been trying to avoid over eating. Obviously, something isn't right....whether it's that I'm not paying close enough attention and really over doing it or there's something else going on. emoticon

I plan to track and watch my intake very closely for the next week and see if that makes a difference. Wish me luck!!! emoticon

    I agree with ARTASONG - don't take doctor's scales as gospel - stick to one scale; your own! However, infection will cause you to hold onto fluid too.

    Dont go by doctors scales. Go by one you use regularly at home. Doctor scales vary and get used so much they can be off. Alwaays remember though muscle weighs more than fat so it could be muscle gain which is good

    Tracking really makes one realize how they put on weight. If we do not track we often do not read labels. When we read labels it is surprising how much salt, sugar and fat this fake foods contain.

    Tracking was my eye-opener! Still working on decreasing fats and (carefully) upping fiber. Drinking water has gotten better, and it's helped how I feel! I was so dismayed when I first started tracking, but it's gotten much better & still has room for improvement! It will make a difference! Best wishes!
