I will be visiting family later this week through the weekend. Mom's 87th birthday is this weekend and there are also 2 family reunions that I can actually make it to, if I stay long enough. One of them is always on a Sunday and I may leave Saturday to be back to help DH with our Sunday services. Mom suggested that if I came to visit she would "let" me do her cooking for the reunions.
She is still getting around quite well, but is slowing down a bit and got a new health diagnosis a few weeks back that I think scared her just a bit. So it's time for "mommy time" . I wish we lived closer but a 4 hour drive isn't really that far. I just can't afford the gas and the time off from work that often.
Mom's is a place that I have more trouble controlling my eating habits. I will take my shake mix and some v8 and try to not eat toast 3 times a day. Seriously I rarely eat toast except at moms, and 6 slices is way too much. And with the reunions..... I am taking some low sugar stuff to help with the reunion foods that I will be making so I will have yummy healthier options.
I'll take some crocheting and try to keep my hands busy instead of my mouth as well.
The only options there for exercise are walking and biking and I haven't ridden a bike more than 2 blocks in about 30 years- I hate bike seats and I share a room so no privacy for weight training. Maybe I'll go for a hike on mom's hills or through her woods I haven't done that since the girls were little. (maybe that will banish my recurring dream of a squatter building a house in her woods in sight of mom's kitchen door)
Praying that I can come back the same weight or less than when I leave.
