Joined a Gym::..making Progress!

Tuesday, September 05, 2017

After 2 weeks of clean eating, I am feeling so much stronger....:::overall healthier. My taste buds are craving the good food which is a huge milestone for me! I am not struggling anymore with the challenge of nighttime cravings, feeling hungry after a meal, sugar cravings, feeling carb deprived due to my low carb meals, or feeling sluggish anymore. In fact my body has become accustomed to eating & feeling lighter...if you know what I mean. To sum it up, I embraced my old friend, Self Discipline....my new best bud!

I have been maintaining my scale losses(from 2 weeks ago). Even thru hitting another plateau, I don't feel derailed....::rather, I am excited to stand still (not literally...cuz I am stacking up those fitness minutes...Lol), and continue to make clean eating progress, walking/running progress and just an all-around healthy Lifestyle Progress! I feel like I am on a roll...a good one....taking me to healthy places.

My small (written) goals that began months ago are now "my lifestyle" ...:::making room for MORE small goals. The cool thing for me about small goals is that they are never intimidating......probably because they ARE small.

When I wake up and visualize my "success" for the day....:::keeping in mind that each small goal completed IS success...:::I am reminded that this "thinking" will last a lifetime! Each day I meditate on the small steps for that day. The scales don't need to move, my run doesn't need to be fast. Simply moving ...:::forward:::... with a healthy mindset = Success! Oh my! My mind is resting in the faith that the battle for me is inward...:::when my thinking is aligned with "healthy"....all is as it should be. This is a good place to live, and thrive.

So, I saw that Planet Fitness is celebrating 25 years of business this month, and I decided to join a few days ago. Amazingly, they waived the start-up fee which I was elated about...gave me their black card membership....and my walking buddy texted me that she was inspired and is joining too! May I just say that "joining a gym" has been on my bucket list for about 2 years. I am elated to say that my feet have healed to the point where I can enJOY the gym. I feel as if someone handed me the moon!

My workouts have been amazing! I remember my other good ol friends - sore muscles, agility, great music on my MP3 player and that endorphin rush as I press thru my workouts. I have been craving my old effective circuit training routine - so great to be "back in the saddle" again.

Over this past 3 day weekend, our family shared several BIG Texas sized meals , and thru it all, I stayed in my calories range successfully without any struggle at all! I feel light hearted yet strong at the same time. Does that make any sense? I haven't felt this way in awhile....had forgotten what it was like to eat less and be satisfied. But my memories are flooding back of how GREAT healthy FEELS!

Oh, and I DID bust thru that plateau this morning....down a pound! emoticon emoticon

    I had plantar fasciitis years ago and one thing I did (and often still do) is to raise each leg separately and while it is in the air draw the alphabet in script with my foot. Do that before I go to bed and it really helps.
    Glad you pain is gone!

    Gosh, your blog gave me goosebumps! I'm thrilled you are living with such joy and success. And that you invested in the made-to-fit-your-feet orthotics. Mine are essential.

    I'm going to read your blog every day for inspiration. Self-discipline is so tough and you have made it your ally.......your best friend... instead of your enemy. What a mind-changer. A friend...who helps...and makes life better!

    Imagine what's happening inside your body to improve your health --- everything is better!

    You could be the SP poster girl....changing our lifestyles permanently is what Chris Downie (founder of SP) and all the coaches are advocating...and YOU are a permanent example of how that life feels! Wow..I'm stunned by your power. Stunned!

    Beautiful blog -- Heartfelt! I was taking ibuprofen far too long thinking I had heel spurs and it was helping with the pain, when I discovered it was the dreaded PF. I find myself stretching and rotating my ankles when I don't even realize I'm doing it and I'm off the ibuprofen now for over 10 years. Hallelujah! Keep up the great work dear. Hug, hug!

    What an inspiring story! You have such a good attitude about plateaus, when you could have quit. It sounds like you have developed some very good healthy habits! That is so awesome! Now your joining the gym with your friend. How great is that? That tells me that you are planning to eat and exercise in a healthy way for the rest of your life. You've got this down! Way to go! Congratulations! emoticon
