Day 61 of 100 Days of Gratitude
Tuesday, September 05, 2017
I am so grateful to be retired and able to really concentrate on movement. The days of owning a small business & working 12-14 hrs/daily were very rewarding, but really demanding. I could never have had the time nor energy to do what today involved:
1) hauling and stacking split wood for the wood stove for the bitter winter coming soon. We'll be splitting 5 times more than we did today before we're finished. It's kinda fun, but tiring. But the warm fires when it's -20 degrees (or colder) is worth every minute, believe me!
2) Hiked up that very steep mtn again & then another steep one. Back down to the dirt trail and determined to keep hiking until it was no longer uphill. Well,I'd still be hiking, because it doesn't stop being uphill for several miles. Walked as fast as I could both up and down. Who made that trail longer than it was 3 years ago? I'm feeling my age, but still kicking!
Today: 17,000 steps and 7.2 miles (not all on the mtn. -- thank goodness!) I'm grateful for "time" to hike.
