"Motherhood is not for wimps!" I have a magnet that says that on the refrig.
It's been a year this week since my son experienced the end of his young marriage. I wasn't sure he could reach emotional stability to survive it. So I've been really worried about him re-living the memory this week.
Last week he created an incredible video of shots taken from his drone in Columbia Gorge & Portland, OR. The song he chose to accompany the video is morbidly sad .The video even showed a huge mortuary sign..........oh, no! Not a good beginning!
Tonight he called. I was thrilled! And scared! He wanted to share his day's "unusual" experience working overtime tonight He was fixing the climate control system (by computer) overtime at a mortuary today. (oh, no again!) He & the manager would talk heating and cooling issues and then a body was brought in...egads. Then they'd joke around (including some "mortician humor") and then the mortician answered the phone and switched to expressing sincere assistance & compassion. This diversion kept my son's mind off last year trauma... at least a while. And we had a wonderful one hour conversation .. on a happy note! I'm grateful! So very grateful.
