Still Having Trouble With Bi

Thursday, September 21, 2017

I was waiting to blog about how my Bi-pap machine is working, but will get those of you interested up to date. I was to see the Pulmonary Specialist this Tuesday but the appointment has gotten changed to October 11th. Went back to see one of the pulmonary helpers for adjustment last Wednesday as I still am having trouble with the mast staying put, especially toward morning. So I came home with three options to try. so she wanted me to have enough time to really test all three. So the first is just a slight change to the first mask---that is the one I have been using until tomorrow---still having some problems with that one. I still don't get enough hours of sleep at night, up at least a couple times readjusting the mask. I have trouble falling asleep every night, even when I take a sleep aid, which I don't do but a now and then. So now I wonder how this will help me if that remains a problem, a question for the doctor no doubt--or he having to explain how it will help, eventually.. So I still am as bewildered about this process, but will continue working with it until I see the doctor. It is frustrating to say the least. I have heard several people say they get there machine started and off to sleep land. Even my husband gets his all set up and falls asleep quickly, aggravating---I want that too.

emoticon I'm so sorry you are going through this! I'm a poor sleeper too! I wake up ⏰ approximately every 2 hours, struggle to get to sleep and then to get enough sleep. I hope by this time you have seen a Doctor to help you. Aww, to sleep like my puppy! emoticon That would be great! Keep the Faith! God Bless!

I am sorry you are having so many troubles finding the right mask but I hope you will find one that works for you. I would struggle with that too as I toss and turn so much. Good luck!

Fran, it almost sounds like the mask is not the right fit for you. Did they fit it to you? How long have you been working with it? I hope you can get it adjusted to you so that you can get a good night's sleep which is one of the reasons to have one. Take it one night at a time.

I have heard the same complaints from friends. I don't have any experience with it so can't offer any suggestions. Hopefully the new options will help or doc can give you more. emoticon

I use a cpap machine at night and went through several different masks till I found the one that works for me. This website has a picture of the one I use now: blog.easybreathe.com/new-dreamwear-

I sleep better now because it's relatively comfortable, allows more freedom of movement, doesn't blow air in my face, and stays on all night. Maybe it would help you, too, if you haven't already tried it.

I think everyone has an adjustment period to C-paps and Bi-paps, but once they get used to it, they won't leave home without them!
