Vegan Experiment Almost Complete!

So today is our last full day as vegans! Tomorrow we are going for sushi in the evening.

We've had some struggles, we've learned some stuff, and we found some great recipes!

My biggest learning is that I don't really feel any different. To be fair, I don't eat a lot of meat (specifically red meat) anyway, so I'm not surprised it hasn't changed my body.

However, I think I learned that I really don't need meat and dairy often! I'm going to try and reduce the dairy I eat, and my husband and I are going to try and have a number of "meatless/vegan" days. We were talking about trying to even things out, like if we have meat in a meal, no dairy or carbs, if we have dairy in a meal, no carbs or meat, etc.

I am looking forward to sushi. I miss it a LOT! That's my biggest sadness throughout this.

It was a good experiment, and I am glad that my husband recommended it.

    I am a vegetarian, but I do not like to give up cheese and yogurt completely. I can handle being vegan for a short time.

    I enjoyed reading your blogs about your vegan experience. We are doing Forks Over Knives which gives us the weekly menu, recipes, grocery list and nutritional content. We committed to a year and have started our second month. My husband lost 10 pounds in month one and I lost about 7.
