Oh the Gainz...Embrace the Suck!

A couple years ago, after several years of yo-yo fitness routines, I realized something about my body. If I started working out, or suddenly had a dramatic increase to my intensity, I was going to gain weight. Not for a day or two, but for several weeks, and it would happen fast. That was when I coined the phrase "Embrace the Suck."
Basically, at that time, i knew I needed to get fit again after too many years "off", and it was going to suck. I was going to put on weight, my clothes would fit worse, I'd look fatter, and I'd feel gross, but I would just have to "embrace the suck" and work through it anyways.
Welp, my pilon fracture is holding me back less and less, and I am finally to a point where I can complete "regular" workouts. I've found a gym near my house (I moved this summer and hadn't been to gym-level workouts yet), and I think I'll be joining (finishing up a 7 day pass right now).
Going into the "old" workout routine, however, and I knew I'd have to "embrace the suck" yet again. My body did not disappoint LOL!! I started hitting the gym in the AM before work, started counting my calories again just to be sure I wasn't overeating with the increase in activity, and sure enough, within 3 days I had gained as many pounds!
Thankfully, this time around, I was prepared, and I knew what I was in for. It still sucks, don't get me wrong, but it feels good to be back into my old routine, and despite the fact that it's been a full year, it is proving to be a lot easier to fall back into the routine than I thought it would be. At first I was worried I'd be fighting myself daily for awhile, but it actually hasn't been as bad, so that's nice at least, even if my body is still rebelling LOL!!
