PT day 1

Monday, November 27, 2017

I went for an eval to see if physical therapy will help my recent knee pain today. They said YES! It seems I have very strong muscles in my legs and very tight tendons.... I need to stretch more. Then my tendons/ muscles won't pull unevenly on my kneecap / joint. First day and I am in worse pain than in a long time, but they said that sometimes happens, give it a while and it should get better. Maybe next time I'll ask about pool therapy... The only thing is I don't have a swim suit..... Wrong season to get one easily. My last doctor's appointment was 10 days or so ago and my numbers improved so much he said that I must have made some significant changes in my lifestyle because the medicine wasn't strong enough to make that big of a difference in the numbers. I also lost 6 pounds in the 3 months since I last saw him. He did add 2 more supplements though, one to help with the bruising caused by the prescription and another to help with my joint pain. Now to keep up the changes as best as I can with the knee pain and lose 10# or more (20 would be nice, that would have me overweight instead of obese) before my next appointment in May.

I feel your pain.....literally. I started pool therapy and then my surgical incision which had been closed for 6 weeks reopened 2 tiny holes. Surgeon said some sutures must have worked their way up and not dissolved. They took 4 weeks to close! I'm looking into a swim club in Delaware that has a therapy pool, a Jacuzzi, and a regular pool. A LOT cheaper than $25 a pop at therapy at the hospital.

Dawn is right, order online and now IS a great time to order. Lots of clearance suits, and nowadays you can buy separates that match in different sizes for those of who need it. Feel better and stay strong!

Order your bathing suit online. I have a couple of websites that have great suits that last in the chlorine. Let me know & I'll private message you the links. Glad that you're getting help. Pool therapy is the best. It has kept me walking without surgery for years.

Good to hear about your positive progress. Little steps at a time seem to be the lasting ones that make a difference. I hope your knee gets better soon.
If you need a bathing suit, try an online catalogue like Landsend or llbean. They always have some bathing suits all year around. emoticon

This is great! I'm so glad to see that you've started the PT, it's pretty amazing sometimes, the improvement with it. I hope that the discomfort it's causing lessens quickly for you.
Good luck on the weight loss! emoticon emoticon

I deal with chronic pain...weight loss still happens. Be careful as well; sometimes the drugs can work against you and cause other problems. Stay at it and be safe.
