Well I am the heaviest I have been in a year and a half. The thing is....I gained 14 lbs in a matter of days. I know for a fact that I have not eaten the 3,000+extra calories necessary to gain a pound in a day...let alone 14!! I have trouble with retaining fluid and I would bet money that this is the problem. What to do about it? Try to reduce the amount of fluids I'm imbibing and that is no easy task for me. But I must. Somehow. And the other thing I can do is to be more faithful at taking the second dose of a diuretic medicine that I am taking. The reason I often miss the second dose is that, if I have to go out in the afternoon...I don't take it because who wants to stop and pee every five minutes?

But if that is what I have to do, then I will do it...It is certainly better than carrying around 14 extra pounds! My face is puffy and my under-the-jaw-area is swollen giving me a huge second chin.
This morning I'd lost one of the pounds I've gained. It's a start. I have a long path in front of me.

Unfortunately you need more fluids when your body is retaining water -are you still on that restricted water intake then? That is harmful :-( Are you allowed more water rich foods like cucumbers?
I haven't stepped on the scale since I have been sick, have to wait until everything is normalised once more or I will get a false reading..
I do wonder how you would do on a keto diet, but you would need to be under supervision by a Dr. who knows what they are doing with it. I have heard of so many people being cured of various diseases with it. They think its superior to a vegan diet almost overwhelmingly so. If I had any money I would consider it.
Hope you didn't get snow and are able to enjoy your Christmas plans..
