Long time no see!

I am back here, and I couldn't remember why I left last time, but I looked at my last blog entry and remembered. I stopped coming here when I got sick. In March 2015, I developed some neurological problems that quickly became completely debilitating. I lost partial vision for four months. I developed a stutter and excruciating facial pain. I was eventually diagnosed with atypical trigeminal neuralgia. I am still in nonstop pain, but I get sphenopalatine ganglion blocks every week and I am on an anticonvulsant that helps. Trigeminal neuralgia is also called tic douloureaux, which means "painful tic", and sure enough, I get a painful tic that feels like a Charlie horse in my face. It's noticeable to other people and very embarrassing.
I lost almost all of the weight I regained, but not in a good way. I just couldn't eat. I am back around 145-150. I started my new medication a bit over a week ago and this is the best I have felt since this started. My view of feeling okay has shifted dramatically, though. Believe it or not, you can actually get used to feeling like you're being stabbed in the face all day.
I might post some videos or more information about the condition because most people haven't heard of it. I certainly hadn't! I wish I never had!
I bought myself a Fitbit and I love it so I am using that for motivation and tracking my walking. I hope to chat with you guys more soon!
