I loved skating as a child and young adult, most of the problem up here is getting rid of all the snow that keeps falling on the ice. Funny I remember going ice fishing at -20 just a few years ago, and this winter I can't seem to get warm or stay warm, drinking lots of hot herbal tea! 812 days ago
Brrrrrrr.....it is cold there. it is cold here also, but i don't think it is as cold here. had a few days of warm temps and the snow melted. got up to a layer of ice under the fresh snow this morning. it is cold again here. stay warm up there in Canada. 813 days ago
Our town used to have 3 ponds that local kids used for ice skating. My husband remembers skating on one when he was a boy, but it's been covered over now. The one remaining pond was frozen solid last week, and there were skaters out there! Such a wonderful sight to see!! I learned to ice skate on a pond when I was little. If you can skate on a river or pond, you can skate anywhere!! 813 days ago
Travelled from Montreal Friday to Toronto & then fly home from there with cancellations and delays the entire trip. Definitely a frame of mind adjustment would be needed for me to accept and embrace such weather. Love it from my window but thats where it ends I'm afraid - Stay warm my Canadian friend :) 813 days ago
It sure is frozen here! I work in Guelph and live in Cambridge. Usually takes 30 - 35 min to get home. Yesterday it took 90!!! Ice all over. Still made it to the pool last night. I was the only one! Whole pool to myself. I would have left but lifeguards said that they had to stay regardless, so I enjoyed it. Not much planned for today. Another trip to the pool. Likely full of kids today though! 813 days ago
