Food Saboteurs

Thursday, January 18, 2018

Matt, my teenager, and Tim, my fiance', are horrible food saboteurs - Tim is the candy man with the sweet tooth that never stops - he is diabetic but doesn't take care of himself as he should. Matt is just a typical teen that eats ice cream, junk food, etc... They both want to "share" with me. I think for Tim it's an attitude of "if I eat it with him, I can't complain that he is eating it." With Matt he just doesn't care! And he doesn't take no for an answer so sometimes I have to take it and just set it aside which makes him happy.

I have learned to say "no" to Tim. But then he goes to the store, finds what I really like and what tempts me (Oreos and doughnuts) and brings them home and says "these are for you." Arghhhh - love me with flowers or stickers or a card instead!

I have been trying to get Tim to listen to me and not buy certain foods. He refuses to let me shop by myself and he sneaks things into the cart that are not on my food list. I can't force it on him so I just avoid his purchases.
