Thursday Ramblings

Made my first sourdough starter last night! Got at least a week to see if it comes alive or not. I sure hope it does! I won't see any activity until day 3 or 4, and the class on it said it could take longer depending on the weather (too cold) and other various things. I think it is awesome and had the kiddos help. They measured out the bread for me (Rye and all purpose) on the scale (have to have exact amounts). So it is just sitting in a bowl covered up on the table, waiting till tonight when I 'feed' it.

emoticon I finally got more sleep! I was up for a few hours in the middle of the night, but slept the rest of the night! I feel wide-eyed and bushy-tailed (kind-of)! Doc rearranged my meds and I think this is going to work (I pray it works!).

Today I meet my new PCM. I pray she is a good one. I also hope she takes walk-ins and sees kids so my YDD can see her instead of me having to go all the way to the clinic we were at to get YDD seen. She is still throwing up and nauseated.

My insurance problem is getting worse. Now they have denied my bariatric surgery. I have to have a note from my doctor recommending the surgery (I guess the note from the surgeon who refused to do a surgery on me because of my weight wasn't enough). I don't know if my new doc will do that on a first visit. Hm. May have to go back and see my old doc and get her to write it. Or maybe I'll just need to make a 2nd appointment with new doc. I almost didn't get to see my psych doc yesterday because insurance has not been paying him. I'm so frustrated with them! I'm going to spend this afternoon on the phone with them.

emoticon I have not been eating well. At all. I'm letting my anxiety and stress be led by my stomach. Not good. So today I'm starting over and will eat the way I'm supposed to. I did eat some Greek yogurt yesterday to try to get my digestive track back on schedule. But I also ate donuts (notice the plural) and a few other choice items.

Getting tired again, I really need to catch up on sleep! Off to shower and get ready for the day!

I love sourdough bread too. I think I may get some starter going as it's been years since I made it. Hugs, Tanya

I was lucky enough to have someone give me some 20 year old sourdough starter once. I have kept it alive over 15 years now also! Great bread!
