After much prayer, my husband decided to head back to college and finish the degree that he started long ago... - online. It took him only 14 months to complete his bachelor's degree and that was on a fast track - let me tell ya! LOTS of long nights, and complex assignments.
He is on the president's list and holds a 3.98 GPA. And he just GRADUATED on Friday!!
We are so FREAKIN' proud of him!! ....all SIX of us.
After owning his own business for 20 years, my husband knew he couldn't continue to physically labor as hard as he has for another twenty years. Looking back, I am so thankful for the past 20 years as our sons have worked along side of him and learned so much. Even our daughters had the chance to work with him a few times.
We have loved his entrepreneurial spirit - he has such vision, and has taught our children over the years to hold onto their dreams too. - and they are fast learners.
He hopes to land a job as a high school teacher of advanced math. Here in Texas, there are so many opportunities for this particular job. We are all excited about this new direction, and we fully support him with prayer. But there are so many different job openings with the degree that he now has - so we will watch God's hand and see what He has in store! We are hosting a fun party at the end of the month to surround him with supportive family & friends.
For now, it is so GREAT to be on our spring break! which means -
** sleeping in
** reading for hours
** more time for fitness
** GAMES galore - my family LOVES games! ...chess, CLUE, too many card games to list,
Phase 10, Scrabble, and active games too etc.,
All of our children and my cello students just finished performing at our local music competition - all made "superior" ratings which enables them to move on to our state competition in May.
We have already planned to make the weekend in May a short family vacation. More fun!
This new family adventure of ours is exciting - so much trust & hope is involved. Letting go and letting God can be hard - yet SO rewarding. We are in the
hands. I look forward to where God leads us. His Word says: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I choose to take Him at His Word.
Hope you are well, my Spark friends! Winter is coming to an end, and I don't know about you, but I am so READY to garden. I love new life! Spring is a splendid season.
