My March goal is March out of my rut:

emoticon Yesterday my son made home made chili. I swear it will take us all week to eat it all. He told me it's cheap, easy to make, ... I told him I am not a huge soup fan. His GF make soup a lot so he is getting into it. When I was growing up, mom made Campbell soup daily during our summer break and soup start soups during the winter. I have 2 brothers. One brother is like me and is not a soup fan and remembers soup daily. My other brother and mom doesn't remember serving any soup-hum! Anyhow the chili was good. I did notice that it didn't fill either of us up that much which is my main dislike about soups. To me it's not cheaper or healthier when we both ate 2 cupcakes, popcorn, and ? later trying to get full!

emoticon The house my son lives in has 5 people in so they all take turns cooking one meal for everyone a week. The other meals they are on their own. Thur night is my son's night. He made a salad with pasta, cheese, beans, corn, ? in it and brought it home. No meat. It was really good.

emoticon My ? was we had was the Gelato. I found it to taste just like ice cream. I was disappointed it tasted so much like ice cream and it was so expensive!

emoticon My car saga...
My son started it up, pumped the breaks, etc finally found a tiny bit leaking from a back tire. He discover both of my brothers were up at my dad's. So he drove my car up there. One brother drove him back here. He goggled and thinks he found what the issue is. The parts will come on Monday. He thinks it is the same thing that was wrong with his car a year plus ago which was a easy fix.

Keep Sparking!

I like soup, but we don't have it every day, and never in summer. My soups are usually pretty hearty and I usually serve with bread. I am not a big chili fan, but my guys like it, so every once in awhile I will make it. You can usually freeze the leftovers.

Chili sounds great. It was a soup day here today, rainy with snow mixed in at times. We are chili fans. Not big fans of canned soup.
Nice that DS is taking on some of the cooking chores.
Great news that you're going to get your brakes fixed.

Have a great week. Enjoy the time with DS.

  • LINDA!
I love chili. Whether I eat beef or chicken chili I am always full. A soup without meat does not fill me up. Happy that your son is cooking and also working on your car. Enjoy your time together.

That's wonderful that your son is home! AND I sure hope that his fix idea is correct! That would be wonderful.

When I serve soup (and I do love soup, too. My dad made really hearty soups.) I always have a substantial salad on the side. That's what we had a lot, too.

    Here's to a wonderful time w/your DS!

I love soups and salads, I don't make too many soups since I am alone. Praying for you to March out of your rut. You will with God's help. Have a blessed Sunday. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I find soups, especially chili, to be very filling. Not so much the canned soups, but I just love homemade soup and chili! I put a lot of beans in our chili so it makes it more filling. Oh, I hope your car is an easy fix and he can get it fixed soon! Is today Johnny appleseed Day? Thought you might know since you did a whole little info series in your blogs about him last year! I have a calendar that says it is.

You must be so happy to have your son home to help with things like your car. Having him cook is like a bonus.
