Yep life is an adventure if you want it to be.
This week is my son's spring break. He is into online actions. He won what he was bidding on for himself but not for me. The action house is 10 miles from his campus. Since the parts for my car didn't come in until today, we went to get his items yesterday. I did declare March-March out of my rut month!
Before we left town, we returned my book due yesterday, to the library. We ordered his allergy meds (he has a habit of getting back to college and texting...Mom I need...LOL), and we stopped at the 2nd hand store.
We then stopped at a 2nd hand store about 1/2 way there. My son found me a oven liner for under $1. He got some stuff also.
After we picked up his things, we went to Good Will. I found a sweater the was a bright orange/peach color that was in size L that was brand name and too big. I found a sweater in size M that was white and navy stripped with a floral pattern in the middle that was very heavy. It fit so I got it. I figured it would be awesome for these below 0 temp days when I stay home. I noticed this morning it is hand wash but I think if I stick it on gentle it will be OK. I tried on a M short sleeved shirt that was white with navy blue stars that was way too tight. I also noticed how much I hate my bloated belly!
Then we were going to go eat at Subway/Walmart...son wanted Taco Bell...he and his GF always eat there Saturday's after they see Grandpa and before weekly shopping. We were coming from a different way and he missed the turn so we went on a spring adventure. We ate at Subway then went shopping. We got stuff to make pumpkin pie for PI day today. I've never made PI before so he is going to teach me how easy it is. I've been to 2 other Walmart's and they've had these black velvet flats with gold tiny dots for $1. None in my size. I wear a 8. They had a 7 1/2 and a 8 in red. I decided to try them both on. The 8 fell off my feet-what? I tried the 7 1/2 and they worked. I was doing a happy dance inside!
Just a side note. When I was between my 2nd and 3rd year in college I switched from a 2 year Lutheran college (I grew up Baptist) where I learned the joy of freedom to a 4 year very strict Bible college where we had to dress up! I got all my clothes at Good Will. As long as they were dress clothes, who cared what they looked like. I lost the 'me' I found in the 2 year college. I went to visit my best friend who was attending the college my son now attends and she was wearing red flat dress shoes, jeans, and a red sweater. I loved that look. When I was watching High School Musical 2 a month ago, I saw that same look on the girls. I wrote Fun flats not dressy and shorts. It reminded me of that look. I wrote that look in my 'Happy' journal. While I lived in Lacrosse, I wear white canvas shoes daily and dress shoes on Sundays. When I moved back here, Mom told me they were ruining my feet. I've said it before, since Mom died, I've found myself in a rut I am slowly waking up from. I only wear New Balance shoes. Yesterday I got my 1st flats!!!! And they are fun with the gold tiny dots!!!
We watched the sunset as we drove home which was beautiful!!!
We stopped and saw dad on the way home.
It was a fun day road trip!
