The persnickety parakeet

Thursday, May 03, 2018

I took a mindfulness class and found it helps me focus on just eating and savoring my food instead of multitasking. I wish I could explain this to Peep, my parakeet. He does not throw seeds out of his dish that he doesn't like, rather he makes a little pile of the seeds to the side of his dish. I have never had a bird do this before, but he is a funny little guy. Wonder if birds can be OCD? I offered cheerios as a treat. They were on top of the pile of rejects the next morning. At least with Peep it's never dull!

I've always heard that when you multitask eat, you eat more calories because you aren't paying attention.

As that is so cute of your bird. When I had a bird, I had seed everywhere.
