Summer, Ah, Er Spring has arrived in my neck of the woods

Friday, May 04, 2018

it seems we only have 2 seasons in my neck of the woods anymore. it is either summer or winter. we had a few days of spring, but...

the migrating birds have arrived. a sure sign of SPRING.
saw my first Indigo Blue Bunting Thursday

Also saw my first Rose-breasted Grosbeak on Thursday.

The Eastern Phoebe have been back since April. (not that good of a pic)

and of course the Barn Swallows have been back for a couple of weeks now.

we also have the regular non-migrating birds visiting the feeders.
the blue jays, cardinals, morning doves, gold finches and many more. it can be a very colorful time at the feeders.

oh, also some of the many types of woodpeckers also visit the suet feeders i have out.

a couple of pics of a neighbors trees Panda and i walk past daily.

this two Magnolia trees

have no idea what this tree is, but it is beautiful.

just a few signs that Spring is here. have another sign, but that is another blog.

hope everyone has a beautiful day, hope the weather is WARM and SUNNY and SPRINGY in your neck of the woods. go out and enjoy the birds and listen to them sing their songs.

Thank you for reading my blog. i wanted to share the beautiful world with all who want to enjoy what is out there.

Have a wonderful, goal reaching weekend.

Sue, what a lovely blog! I always enjoy seeing your photos and envy you for living in such a beautiful place so close to nature. The swallows always make me smile. It would be so fun to watch those babies every year! And that Indigo Blue Bunting is spectacular! What an amazing color!

We have the same thing happening in Japan--very, very short springs and falls, now, just a quick jump into summer and winter. My favorite seasons are disappearing, and it's pretty sad! I hope this is just a trend and won't be a permanent change, because really fall and spring are the most pleasant, beautiful times of year.

Thanks for sharing these pics of your world!

Great photo's of birds and blooms. They're all here too, but Magnolia trees not in bloom... yet. We're getting 50 mph gusts of wind, as a tornado has been spotted west of us. emoticon

We have barn swallows. Interesting creatures the way they build their nests!
