Tuesday - Day 1 Again

Tuesday, May 08, 2018

So yesterday did not go so well. I was on the go and I ended up eating Taco Bell for lunch and Chinese food for dinner. So today is going to have to be day 1 again. One of these days I will get it right.
My biggest challenge today is that I am meeting a friend for lunch at Culvers. I don't know if they have any healthy options there or not. I am going to look at the menu before I go. The thing is, I don't know if I can resist getting a milkshake. I will try my best though.
So far I have not become invested in the idea of exercising beyond walking. Last year I went through a phase where I worked out five days a week and I still gained weight. It was very frustrating.
What doesn't help is that I am on a medication that negatively effects my metabolism. My doctor said he might prescribe me topomax, a med that some people lose weight on. I am very frustrated by the whole thing.
Just for today I will drink lots of water. I will take the dogs for a walk. I will eat less than I did yesterday. I will be grateful for my body and for what it does for me. I will think positive.

I like the idea that you've set goals "just for today." That's all we've really got, right? One day at a time.

Search Sparkpeople for Culvers there may be some blogs. Also in the food tracking section search Culvers and get the lowdown before you go.

I had those hard days with eating out this weekend with my husband. You aren't alone. A few years ago when I finished chemo, I worked out for about 3 months and didn't see any real weight lose. It can be frustrating. I'm only committed to walking as an exercise, too.

You can do this. I think finding those successes -- like the water and dog walks -- and using them as an anchor can really work. Mine was dropping diet soda now on day 60-something -- on days I seem to falter on 'all' else I make sure to remind myself that I'm STILL off off soda and that seems to help turn my viewpoint around on other things too. Hope that makes sense?
