Getting Fit & Healthy!!

Just thinking back at the stages of my weight loss and thinking how my mindset has changed over time. At one time, I ate almost all protein, a little fat and hardly any carbs. I remember smelling amonia and think I was probably hurting my poor kidneys!! 😵 I probably wasn’t drinking enough water either. 😲🙄 There was the time I tried Keto... that went okay but wasn’t sustainable for me. Then, just recently I was so focused on my macro and keeping them at 35P/35C/30F along with keeping my calories at the SparkPeople recommendations. This is a good place for me. It seems to work to drop weight at a slow to steady pace along with working out and drinking 1/2 my body weight in ounces per day. But then... I strayed a little from this and started to gain. Boo! I started using my Fitbit again, logging everything into Spark like I have always done, however - I started leaving a bigger calorie deficit. The Fitbit seems to be spot on for the amount of calories to take in, spark seems to be too many calories for me. Moving more and eating really healthy, consistently. For weeks at a time, instead of days. Working out consistently a few days a week and running a couple of those days. They always say its calories in vs calories out. I’m starting to believe that where I never did before. I apparently have a really low amount of calories that I need to take in in order to survive!! It’s tricky to find the right foods to keep me full and help me lose. Fruit, low fat cheese, oats, lean meats, fish, corn tortillas, lots of veggies, Greek yogurt, salads, nuts, are all my go to foods that seem to help. Things are clicking and the scale is responding and going down. Consistency is key! Months at a time, not weeks is a better outlook for me. I’m basically at my ultimate goal weight, 142!! I’m so happy to feel good in my clothes again and hopefully even my new bathing suit this summer! Hopefully I can stay here at my ideal weight. I’ve worked so crazy hard. Not only to look my best but mostly to feel my best and be as healthy and fit as I can be!

    I've been focusing on protein the last couple of weeks, plus reducing carbs and fat a little. But that's because I had the balance wrong. I think the important thing is to keep checking until we find the best way for our individual bodies and lifestyle.

    You are analyzing the process and this is good. Think positive and turn the negative into a positive. You'll be surprised at how a positive mindset helps you in so many ways.
