I found that snacking (for me) was a habit that was just that A HABIT! I truly have never been what I would call hungry; I just wanted the food! True there are low calorie and low carb foods to choose from but for me they have only lead to a binge! Taking a 10 minute walk has proven to be more beneficial. Snacking has been around since the time of cave people (eating when they could find food) but to sustain my body I do not need on and yet my meals are not overly hug either! You can get use to no snacking in about 1 week! I felt so much better when I stopped and just made better choices with my 3 meals a day! Occasionally in the evening I may eat 1/2 apple (helps me in the morning) but other than that it is 3 meals a day any more!
I stareted using the No S Diet (no sweets, snacks or seconds EXCEPT SOMETIMES on days that begin with S) over eight years ago. It changed my life. I had done the 5x a day eating for years and it never helped me binge less. The "except sometimes" kept it from feeling like a prison, and the exceptions are usually very minor most of the time now. It was not a fast process but at 64 I weigh less than I did in high school. Food tastes so good when I'm hungry! Also learning not to eat fast no matter how hungry I am was crucial. Keep it up! 726 days ago
I do have snacks but they are planned and scheduled. It's not unlimited, anytime kind of eating. So I suppose one could consider them just an additional, lighter meal. Anyway, it works for me. Cheers. 728 days ago
