I'm still in the middle of my crazy summer, but here is a quick update....
My church trip: I did better with all the sitting than I thought I would, but still managed to get some steps in. I didn't gain any weight even though i was away from home & off my regular schedule...yay! I tracked all food and weighed almost every day...I think I skipped twice. I only had ice cream once and no cookies even though they were both available to me at 10 meals so yay again! I had a great time seeing old friends and worshipping together....it was nice to stop and get away for a few days. We brought 3 grandkids back with us so the days are still crazy. :)
My knee: My knee seemed to appreciate the break from regular activity and got better as the week went on. God gave me a lot of grace in that area as I was really concerned the sitting would stiffen my knee...but it didn't! I wore my brace on my day in the kitchen and my knee did fine! I made it a point to speak to several friends who've had knee issues and they ALL swear by Glucosamine/Chondroitin...espe
cially a brand recommended by their local ortho dr....Cosamin DS. I had it shipped to my destination via Amazon Prime and started it right away because....
My trip to the Philippines is next week! I'm getting excited about it and packing for that as I'm unpacking from the last trip. I'm a little concerned about the hours and hours on a plane, but others have survived so I will too. I plan to go back to physical therapy when I get back to learn what exercise I CAN do that won't annoy my knee any further. For now, no running or squatting and as little kneeling as I can get away with so I don't flare my knee up before I head overseas!
I'll take a breath later (I haven't even decorated our remodeled upstairs or bought new towels for the new bathrooms LOL) ...for now, it's time to enjoy the opportunities I have in front of me, so on to the next thing!
