Yesterday made it 21 days

Some of you may remember that I challenged myself to shut down my computer around 8:30 p.m. and do some gentle yoga stretching and foam rolling. Well, I'm happy to report that I have met my goal for 21 days - sort of. The most important part of the goal, turning off the computer and getting down on the mat, has been met. However, it hasn't always happened by 8:30 p.m. and it hasn't happened in my lovely sitting room.

For example, Wednesday night is my Bible Study night and last night I didn't get home until 8:45 p.m. The first thing I need to do is play ropes with my little Daisy - lucky for me it was even too hot for her so we didn't play very long. Then there's the last time of checking my email and finishing up on Spark and closing out everything else I had been working on during the day, which took about 45 minutes. So by the time I was done and ready to relax it was nearly 10:00 p.m. So I turned on the news and did my yoga and rolling on the living room floor while listening to the local news. I do love our local news - they make a point of finding good news to talk about every day! 20 minutes later I was done just in time to watch the weather.

Then there's the weather which, like for so many others, is not real good. Daisy and I have been getting out before 7 a.m. but this morning even little Daisy was dragging by the time we got home after just a 1 mile walk. This is where she lays when I am in my office - her feet are up again the heat register and it must be a cool spot with the AC on. The photo is a bit blurry but you get the idea.

Wishing you all a perfect day today in whatever you do. I have decided not to go to the gym today because my legs and back have been bothering me a bit. But mostly because I am having lunch with a friend I haven't seen in awhile and I want to be at my best! For the rest of the day I'm staying inside!

Good for you for doing so well on your streak. It is honorable that you attempted and pretty well nailed it! I've been trying to do some yoga also before bed and not spend so much time on the computer. I really think it has made me much more sedentary and that's NEVER a good thing! Today I'm going back through all of our bank statements clear back through 2010 as much as I can find to prove our monthly payments to all of the lawyers we have used for so many years on our 'save our home' fight. It's a BUNCH and I'm hoping and praying we get those monies...or at least SOME of them back. I am starting to think of a small cottage near the beach and found a really cute one! I'll e-mail you the address...it's SO TINY but an oldie goldie and very charming. I immediately thought of Fredie and her little place when I saw it.

We all must adjust and roll with the punches...it's good to think of Plan B...just in case. Have a wonderful day...I'm lucky because DH is covering for me at the gallery after I've been stuck there all week while he was out on a construction job. I can't even BELIEVE he does this insanely HOT ...HARD work in this kind of heat...he is like the Ever~Ready Bunny...just keeps on tickin'!

As it's getting closer to him going back to see his mom he is hinting more and more that he'd like me to go...I would love to...for him...but I know it would be a walking diseaster...so this year he's on his own.

I bet he appreciates his little wifey and they way she buffers life for him...a WHOLE lot more upon his return..ha..ha! emoticon

Great accomplishment Kathy! I too do not go on my computer in the evening. I usually finish up my stuff before supper and just shut down. It really made a difference in my sleep quality. Of course there are some evenings I need to go on to SP, but that is the exception.

Daisy looks like such a wonderful dog. We do not have a dog anymore. After our Sam had to be put down for cancer, we decided that we travel too much and it's really not fair to a dog. I do miss having a companion who's always ready to walk with me though. And I'm pretty sure if we had a dog, the population of rabbits in our yard would be smaller.

Sorry I missed this blog, I was really busy with my son and his family visiting. I enjoyed having them so much, but it wore me out by the time they left. Hope you enjoyed lunch with your friend.

Yes, the heat makes a difference in the moving it routine. As the summer progresses my walk starts earlier. I was out at 6am today....8 or 8:30am was spring start time. 😎

Hope you had a fun time at lunch--those are always the best breaks in the day.
Seeing nothing wrong with your choices--sometimes those types of choices are good for us because we can refocus, heal, renew our committment. Take care of Daisy.

That is fantastic! I am definitely trying to watch it with my screentime and I am determined to incorporate yoga into my life. Still haven't tried a class yet! I love hearing about Daisy! Always makes me smile!

I'm proud of you for keeping your streak going....and it's a healthy goal too. It's suppose to get hot here today so I made it out right as the sun was climbing so I could beat the heat. I wanted to walk my usual 80 minutes but only made it for 45 minutes before my bad knee got bad and I limped back to my truck. Darn knees!!!! My heart wants to go go go, but my knees say no no no. Enjoy your lunch with your friend and then take a hint from Daisy and just chill indoors.

Daisy so looks like Merlin hugging the vent. Only he is black and about twice her size. It was 90 at 9 this morning, so it will be another warm one. Not doing much outside today at all, if anything.
