Apologies, all

Thursday, July 19, 2018

My apologies to my teams and friends.
The past 3 days have not been good for my SparkPeople journey. We've done road trips and I've not been getting my steps. Up early, long car rides, home late. I know, I know, and I do feel guilty after reading posts from people who would NOT have let all that get in their ways. I shouldn't, but I've been exhausted by the time we get home, and I've had other tasks--keeping the house clean for showings (we're trying to sell).
We've had GREAT times all 3 days, and I wouldn't have missed any of the visits, and I guess that's why I've felt guilty but haven't done much to make good on my promise to teams that I'd support them.
So, to remind myself that I'm committed and not just interested in losing weight (hello, 12 months from now team), I'm affirming here that I will get back on the journey tomorrow: getting steps and being involved with my teams.
My evenings have not been complete since I've missed visiting the teams and participating, so I look forward to getting back at it, and here's hoping whatever I contribute will make the teams stronger.

Madonna = you don't need to apologize as we all need those days that you just have had - time with family and friends. Thanks also for posting on my last blogg. You mentioned about making a chart = we have one that is set up for one week where the can record there food each day and at the bottom are boxes for 1200 / 1500 / 1800 / 2000 calorie plan if following an exchange plan. So this week the assignment for the group was to look just at vegetables and to record just the vegetables and then put an x in each box per serving that they had. I know a lot of them eat only peas corn or carrots so I mentioned not to include them as vegetables this time round as you record them under starch as they are starchy vegetables. Most were surprised at that and what a serving looked like. So it will see if the complete the sheet and bring it back on Tuesday - hope so as the discussion will be based on what they found re vegetables - look forward to you coming when you can to let us know how you are doing.

Ditch the guilty feelings. No one is expecting an apology. We've all been there.

This is called life and we have all been there. Wouldn’t life be boring if it was the same every day. Enjoy the moment!!!

You do not need to apologize, road trips are really hard on your exercise committment. I know we drive to Floriday every January. 4 days on the road, and no matter what elaborate plans I make for getting my steps in, they always fall through. I hate finally arriving at a hotel and heading for the gym, it's not what I want to do after 7-8 hours on the road.

Anyway, you're back and your making a recommittment, good for you. emoticon

Madonna - you need to stop apologizing for doing the things you have to do and having fun with family. The important moments in life are those memories and time spent with family. So don't feel that you are not doing what you need to do. I understand wanting to be accountable and not letting teams down but you need to think of yourself first. I will be leaving tomorrow to take my son to California and I know I might be getting steps in but I most likely will not have time to post or internet. So allow yourself some fun time!!
Tomorrow is another day so start fresh! Have a good night and good rest of the week!! emoticon

Madonna, I just got back from an extended weekend vacation and I was able to get on the internet twice I think and that was just to post my exercise minutes for the Teddy Bears. My vacation was all about being with my kids and enjoying the moment. I felt the same way as you once I got home though but so many sparkers reminded me that it's all part of the journey we are on. I'm glad you enjoyed your road trips wherever they took you and glad you are back and able to focus on your teams again and enjoy this part of your journey now. So put those apologies behind you.

I agree. Above all else, this is your journey. Don't apologize for living your life. Doing your thing. Spark People are supportive people, we understand life has to be lived too.Dont beat yourself up! Glad you had fun!

No apologies needed - we all need a break now and then. My children have rented a house in Wisconsin Dells (not my first choice of vacation spots) and we will all be together for a long weekend the first weekend of August. I will likely have internet access but I'm not sure I'll have time to log and to do all my typical spark things. Sometimes it's important to just stop for a bit and take care of real life! We all understand that!

I'm so happy to hear that you had a great 3 days. I love road trips. My husband and I (and, of course, Miss Daisy) can drive for hours and hours when we are heading toward a destination. Tom drives, I knit, Daisy sleeps - rest stops are what we look forward to. And yes, once we do stop for the day/night - who wants to exercise or walk or do anything but chill for awhile! You had a great time and I am sure you deserved it!

Have a good night and start fresh tomorrow.
