Time gone by

Sunday, July 22, 2018

I left PR in 1985 for a temporary move to mainland USA. I don’t remember how 2 years turned into 5, 10, 15 but 33 years later, I am still here dreaming with PR. I don’t remember how my nephews were born, grew up and moved out of PR looking for a better life. I don’t remember how my remember how my mother got old, got sick and died. I don’t remember how I got old myself. It is like when the winter is about to end and the spring is starting. You fill yourself with hope and you are so happy that it does not matter if is still cold and snows a little. You tell yourself that the spring is here and that it got to warm up sooner or later. When the end of April comes and is still cold, that hope starts to dissipate a little and you start to complain. The weather gets better and then comes the summer solstice and you start thinking about losing daylight little by little. The 4th of July for me marks the start of the end of the summer and the beginning of the fall. But if you think there are still 2 months of summer left. Enjoy the moment. Live it!!! Embrace and spend time with your loved ones because they would be grown up or what is worse; gone like the Spring and summer with difference, that they won’t come back.

Oh my friend. How time does fly. But yes, let's enjoy each day.

The older you get, the faster time does go by. I don't know how I have a 41 year old son. I don't know how my nephew went from a baby to an Army soldier. My niece is in college to be a pediatric oncologist, top of her class. Life passed me by, because it seems like I stood still. I haven't done anything. emoticon
