Day 44 - Heading into my next phase :-)

Monday, July 23, 2018

Now that I have my Barre classes situated, I'm ready to head into my next phase: getting in additional workouts on my own AND working on getting in healthier meals with less going out to eat and less splurging on food.

Tomorrow I plan on heading to the gym for the first time in a long time. I don't really like going - I prefer classes with other people and even though I know what things are in the gym and will go in knowing what I want to do, I still end up feeling like I'm winging it when I'm there. I'm toying with the idea of buying a single personal trainer hour to help give me a plan of attack, and maybe I can meet with them every month or so to tweak my plan. I don't need someone with me, I just need some help with a plan. Although I could just put one together from research on the internet and stuff. We'll see.

This week I have 3 sets of plans with friends: Wednesday at lunch for pizza, Friday at lunch for falafel, and Friday night a bonfire that will only have alcohol and snacks. Next Tuesday is a movie night and we usually go to dinner beforehand. I need to learn BALANCE and enjoying activities with friends while also not sabotaging the work I'll be putting in. How do others do it?

Somehow I would find other ways to connect with friends that don't involve food or alcohol, a way for you to enjoy yourself without stepping in the minefield.

OH boy, I am disabled and a mostly a shut-in, so I hardly ever see anyone. My temptation is to snack because I am alone too much. I can't afford gym membership (also would not work with my disability) or a personal trainer, so I research on the Internet. But I got a sponsored membership recently to Weight Watchers, that is feedback and learning in a group.
