Back In The Saddle!

Thursday, August 02, 2018

I've been letting life get in the way of my success at weight loss and healthy lifestyle again. Anxiety has been really bad of late and I've let it make me forget to work out or forget to eat altogether. I know my body is no longer in ketosis, it's probably in starvation mode.

The kids started school today and little Hope got me up at 0230 and kept me awake all morning. So I kept her awake in car line, lol. But school starting means that, if I can get my sleep and not need a nap, I can get on a schedule.

My schedule will roughly look like this:

Up at 0500 -wake kids and get rolling for school
Leave for school at 0640
Car line -take Hope with and drink protein shake
Home - go work out for at least an hour
House cleaning/decluttering for 1 hour - do at least 1 load of laundry
Spend some 'me' time- paint, crochet, watch a show, etc.
Car line -take Hope, bring crochet or tablet to read
Help kids with homework (or at least make sure it gets done)
Kids chores and then let them go play - start dinner if making it

Of course this is just a rough draft and will vary on days I have appointments and errands to run. I also have to inject training Hope at the beginning of every hour to make at least 5-6 training sessions a day. I can totally do this. I may have to have the kids watch the pup while I workout so workouts may have to wait till they come home, at least till we can get a baby gate and get her introduced to the equipment downstairs so she is not scared of it. So switch working out, add some computer and cleaning time, add to the me time and workout in the evening for at least a week.

Right now, Hope sleeps with us, if she keeps waking me up in the middle of the night I may have to go ahead and crate train her. I am crate training her, but slowly, and only when we can't take her somewhere. I can't leave the crate door open because then the other dog would go in and mark it as his. Pickles has been having a crisis, so he is peeing on certain places, poor fellow. Having a puppy that is almost as big as you and wants to PLAY must be difficult.

It is good to have a schedule. Now that my kids are grown and I am retired, I really don't have a need for one. But I wish that I had adhered to one when I was younger.

I like your schedule! Go with the flow of the day. It isn't set in stone and you can be flexible when needed. We still have until Aug 27 before school starts, so I have some time to get things in order.
