Survival Guide

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

So someone pointed out that I've got a lot going on and I'm being pulled in a lot of directions, that I need to simplify. If only it were that easy. I do have that much going on, I've simplified as much as I can, and sometimes you just can't simplify any more than you have and you have to just juggle what you've got. I've got doctors in 3 different cities in 3 different directions (one an hour+ away!) because I don't have them here in my small town. That's where I'm at. So...

I'm writing a 'survival guide' for myself. It will change a lot and over time will hopefully become something I can refer to whenever I'm in need of help. For example I have one page just labeled 'anxiety' (needs a better name...) and all the things I could think of to do for when I have anxiety are on that page. I know it will grow, this is just a first draft. I'm also writing my current goals, and those change frequently as I learn what works and does not work for me, so I imagine I'll need a new book before long, lol.

I was going to write it in Evernote, I'm trying to do all of my To Do Lists on it too, so far it is working for things that I have to sit and call and or do on the computer, but as far as household chores I do better with written lists. I'm going to make a weekly To Do List, things that need to be done at least once a week, or maybe a days of the week one, and use that to make sure the basics at least are being done.

Some may think I'm going overboard with the lists, but they really help me, I keep them in two locations; my book and Evernote, which are both with me all the time, or at least in my car or purse.

As I've had to tell several people these last few days; you do you. Do what works best for you. In your own way. I'm taking my own advice.
