Accountability: A Fresh Look

Sunday, August 26, 2018

...::::I discovered //www.bitmoji.com/ , a FUN app enabling you to create your own personal emoji. Cool, huh? So this is ME.

emoticon Well, friends:::.... it's been a Loooonnng time since I last blogged. I think I last blogged in May. Summer vacation was simply that - vacation.
Aside from the rest, family fun and travel, this summer has been quite an educational summer for me.
I have learned how very difficult it IS to simply maintain my weight loss as well as stay focused on good lifestyle choices. Yet, I have stayed connected weekly on SP and with a few constant friends on the same healthy pathway, and through steady choices I did maintain.

I am more than ready for a fresh start in losing more pounds as well as working towards a fitter me! Just finished my first week of teaching:::.... great to be back in a working schedule - I thrive with order and a well penciled calendar. Lol.
emoticon emoticon emoticon

I commit to a "21 day challenge" as I know from experience that it takes 21 days to break a habit. (actually I began this challenge yesterday) It ends September 14th where I will blog
here::::..holds me accountable. I will FOCUS in on the good choices I DO make daily, and simply bounce back from any daily mistake.

I find myself doing well for about 5 days...then getting off track - repeat weekly....LOL! Yep, something like that. emoticon

** Jesus (worship/prayer) first upon waking
** track my stuff at SP faithfully
** power walk at 5:45 a.m. with neighbor: M - F
** turning away from sugar laden foods and other unhealthy snacks
** not eating after 9 p.m.
** 20 min intervals of ST 3x/week
** social media is a low priority
** NOT letting Mr. Scales define me

I have a calendar on my wall I plan to mark up each day - a visual reminder of my progress.

Last of all, I have this gift to myself that I carefully wrapped intending to give it to ME when I reached a certain weight. It is still wrapped. Do you remember what I wrapped? ....it was so long ago, and forgotten due to my self imposed rut.
But my determination is all the more invigorated by that unopened gift all for ME. I promise to be faithful ....just 10 more pounds to lose before I open my gift!

I just need to make it past 7 days. Sending out a shout out of THANKS to those of you who have emailed me, sent goodies and reached out each week. God bless you. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am so determined to continue to give 100%. I know I can do this (Phil.4:13)
..:::deep down:::... I know I CAN!

You've set some GREAT goals and it's great that you set up a little challenge for yourself. Good job maintaining through the summer! That's a challenge in itself. I KNOW you're going to do great and end 2018 strong. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I remember your gift......you put liquid in it! Your blog has given me inspiration! I agree with visual reminders. I put an older picture of me (thinner) on the refrigerator as a reminder of healthy choices. Happy that you had a great summer.....I agree about slowing down on social media......too many real things to enjoy!

During my homeschooling days, I remember well how much I enjoyed getting back to a routine after taking the summer off so I hear ya on that one! Now that I'm 'retired' I have to learn how to define myself and my days differently...I guess we are all redefining ourselves with each new chapter of our lives and I hope your fresh chapter goes just like you want it to! Maintenance is hard work and so is losing weight but YOU GOT THIS!!!
