Nine Years' Maintenance??? Gahhhhhhhh!!!

How ironic that the nine years' maintenance anniversary occurred while I was travelling . . . and not being entirely compliant with my program.

Indulged in fries a couple times AND one smallish bag of Irish potato chips split with my DH: not an excessive quantity. But delish and I'm still thinking about them. And there was also baguette with Kerry butter, Kerry cheddar, some "coffee slice" (which figures large in Irish chick lit novels, several of which I had with me . . . and I can see now why it "figures large") plus two cookies. Possibly more glasses of wine than normal too (nope, we did not do the Irish pub and traditional music thing. . . they seemed touristy, we're pretty boring and did not want to be negotiating those narrow Irish roads in the dark driving standard transmission on the left either.)

Weighed in at the gym yesterday: not happy. Even though we WERE staying in accommodations with full kitchens and most of the time away I did prepare my usual salads, eat yogourt and berries (including handfuls of those ripe hedgerow bramble berries).

Oh well oh well oh well. Maintenance is about "yanking the leash".

So: there is work to be done. I've done it before, will do it again.

After yesterday's trip to the gym, I filled the fridge with all the healthy stuff. Enjoyed my egg white and veggies omelette for breakfast this morning.

But the irony, the irony of that 9th maintenance anniversary at the upper end of my range!! (And: many thanks to those of you who sent goodies and congrats). Yes yes yes: still more than 80 pounds down from the max: but I'd be happier to get lower again too.
