Where is the time going!?!

I always try to be positive minded on this weight loss journey and have always tried to incorporate exercise into my everyday life. About a year and half ago, my back pain started getting worse, till finally in May of this year, I saw an orthopedic surgeon about it, after my GP diagnosed I had bone on bone on my left hip! Here I had thought it was my back, however that did show some spinal stenosis too...but nothing like the bone on bone of the left hip. I was given an injection at the hospital into the joint of the hip and it helped for about a month! I was able to once again get on the treadmill...having avoided it because of the pain...for many months. It HURT too much to do anything...except lay on the floor and lift my weights, which I did daily...20# each and doing various strengthening exercises. I love to be on the floor doing stretches, weights, yoga. I saw the ortho again in July and scheduled my hip replacement...and the soonest I could get in was 9/24!! So far away, but continued with my floor exercises.

Around Labor Day, my beloved cat, Bella, 16 1/2 years old started acting, strangely, like spending time upstairs in our bedroom or behind the couch and not eating regularly. My hip was really bothering me more and more, but I catered to her, walking the stairs up to our bedroom with food, coaxing her to eat, which she did...a little. Around 9/10, she really wasn't all that interested in food, and she now needed to be picked up to lay on our bed, which she did every night, at my feet. She still purred and loved to be stroked! I discovered some nodules under her chin and called my vet, and he said, it could be nothing, but we could excise them, however, with her age, anesthesia is a risk, plus she was not at all bothered by them! I decided not to take her in, however, around the 20th, she was not eating much at all, and when I tried to tempt her with food, she would slowly move away. It was during this time, I told hubby, tearfully, I think it's time we take Bella in to the vet and possibly have her put to sleep...especially as my surgery was scheduled the 24th and hubby would be with me all day...I did not want my beloved Bella to have seizures while no one was home. I did it out of love to take her that Sat. morning. Our vet was very caring and understanding, and told me the cancer was spreading to her lymph nodes! He also said, you brought her in at the right time, so that she does not suffer! It was truly a very sad time, and it still is...I miss her so much!

My surgery on the 24th went very well...I am recovering and I am out of pain, except where the swelling is of the new implant, which is normal and doing the physical therapy, which is painful, but YOU need to go through that pain...to work that new implant and muscles surrounding it!

I didn't realize it but that doggone implant weighs between 3-5 pounds, so needless to say when I went back to TOPS (I rejoined on 6/11) I was up 3#, however, I look at that as a turtle!

I try to be very upbeat about my weight loss journey, and I will reach my goal of losing 20 pounds by January 15, 2019.

I am visualizing my walking the treadmill again...hopefully within the month; I've graduated to the cane, and even walking some without that! I want to believe that I will get to where I want to be and visualizing myself slim, feeling great, healthy and doing things I have not been able to do for well over a year...is what keeps me going!

God has never left my side, and I am so thankful to Him.

I know this is a long blog, but I wanted to write about...especially about my Bella.

I wish you all a blessed and healthy journey...and speaking ONLY positively OUT LOUD...as this helps me hear me...and I don't allow negativity to enter in. I think we're all better than that! We need to think, speak, act positively to get our results we want!

May God continue to bless you on your journey to better health!! Thanks for stopping by!

I am so sorry for your LOSS of Bella. Our pets become our family and we had a dog too, for 15 years. It is hard to have them put down, but pain for them is not good. Your vet was right and it was the right time.

I know your HIP surgery had to be a very Traumatic time and it was not easy. The Pt does help but take so much time to heal. Keep it up and soon you will be doing much better. I am also a positive thinker and will not allow any negativity to take over. I will keep you in prayers.
I also had bone on bone when I needed the reversible shoulder replacement and I have bad OA...I.keep positive and do the best I can each day and thank God for all my blessings and wonderful family and friends.
hugs, prayers and get well soon.

OH I am so sad to hear of Bella’s passing. My beloved Mr. Spot (a shi-a-poo) passed on 21 August 2017, 9 days after my Dad – just unfathomable). It’s a beyond-tough choice, but these furbabies we’re blessed with depend on us to make the right choices for them, even when they’re so hard. ((((HUGS))))

I never thought about the weight of my knee implant! I imagine it’s about 3 lbs. **Sigh** Who would think of that???!!!!

So happy you’ve graduated to the cane. I know what a momentous occasion that is!
