My Adventure in Spark Land...Day 79 of 365 days...sleeping tips

Question (from 31 days of self care pin): Who are your role models and what qualities do you share with them?

At this moment of time, I do not have any role models.

Yesterday I wrote my blog in a hurry. I am going to share some sleeping tips that was connected to week 12 get more sleep. There are 10. I will share 2 a day for 5 days.

1) Limit your blue light exposure. At least 45-60 minute before bed time. The author said she uses f.lux that changes the hue of the screen at certain times to remove the blue light late at night.
2) Meditate before bed to help shut down your mind.


I've had trouble with my sleeping patterns since son went off to college. I didn't know there was f.lux. I've never tried meditation. This week I had planning on working on my sleep patterns before I saw this anyhow. This is perfect! I also want to work on my morning routine. Next week is 3 month check in so I may have 2 weeks to work on this!

It is very windy and cold here but I will still add a poem:

I drove in high winds yesterday. At times there were leaves blowing around the road. That was my boo season fun!

    aim for 7-8 hours sleep each day
    extra sleep or naps wont hurt
    keep the same bedtime routine, even on weekends
    no screens(blue light) i hour before bed
    no exercise within 1 hour of bedtime
    try not to eat anything 2 hours before bed
    no alcohol before bed
    a glass of warm sweetened milk may help just before bed
    focus on your breathing when first in bed
    sleep on your left-hand side if possible.
    herbal teas like chamomile may help

    lack of sleep can increase stress and appetite.

    I turn off the computer an hour before I want to go to sleep. I get in bed and read real books, not ebooks.

    emoticon for sharing the poem. We also have been having very heavy winds today. In fact it knocked out our electricity for awhile. Sometimes prayers are my meditation. Other times I use visualzation if very difficult to relax at night.

    Never heard of a f.lux either.

    I usually do meditation when I wake up in the morning and again when I go to bed. Helps relax!
