My personal exercise challenge : Day 2

I got a streak going - all of two days in a row!!! Walked further today, and what a perfect day for walking it was: picture perfect (except that our trees have almost no color this year) and perfect temps, and wonderful company (two of my daughters). We walked around the lake at our nearby state park, which we are estimating to be ~4 miles. Next time I will keep better track of my step count. All I know is that with the walk and the rest of the day, I am at 11,145 steps with a few more hours left in the day. Maybe I'll make it to 12,000 - it's been a long time since I've done that!!

So far my fair weather walks have been pleasant, hopefully I will soon have the habit instilled - enough to hold up under that extra challenge of colder weather. Hoping to use the great outdoors as much as possible, I have to move furniture around to use the WATP dvd's, which can be a deterrent. (Although I do like them - and Jessica Smith's too). Now to start doing better with the daily diet as well...

So Julia, thank you for "the challenge of your example" - and I could say the same to you Christine!! - I need all the accountability I can get!! Thanks for your comments on yesterday's blog - I appreciate you so much!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I am so glad to hear it! Sounds like the perfect walk, weather, and walking buddies, who can ask for more?

    Today was my rest day in the sense that I didn't do any official exercises besides my neck therapy, but I did do a lot of housework and going up and down the stairs washing a few loads. YAY for us! Congrats on your day 2! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Hi Kathy! I think you are doing so great with your challenge lifestyle change. I am now able to walk again but am out of town helping my sister move. Glad I had a chance to read your blogs, keep them coming, I love them.
