My Adventure in Spark Land..day 83 of 365 days...diving into self care/self love

Before I joined sparks, I had heard of selfish, self-centered, but not self-care or self-love. As I started looking into what they were, I saw that both were what I had learned as being evil. As I dug deeper I learned that I needed self-care and self-love in order to be a healthier person. Without added self-love and self-care into my life, I was doing myself and those that I cared for more harm then good.

After months of blogging about self-care and doing things hear and there, I decided last week that this is the week to really dive in and work out self-care/self-love to become a healthier me.

Yes I am working to eat healthier and exercise...(more on that Friday). But there is so much more to being a healthier person then just that.

I am working on sleep-last night I put on my PJ, was falling asleep watching TV, got up to go to bed and discovered I woke myself up by turned on a couple of lights so I took melatotin to aide me back to sleep. Wake up around 4 to use the bathroom and the effects of the melatin was awful. I could not go back to sleep so I laid and finished my book.

My last 3 sleeping tips I found:

9) Limit caffeine after 2 PM-look for hidden sources of caffeine
10) Drink herbal tea at night-tea can have a relaxing effect and help you create a bedtime routine that triggers the release the appropriate and chemicals messengers.
11) Try Natural Calm to help you sleep at night.

*I do not drink caffeine drinks, or tea. Maybe Natural calm would help.

Monday (today is Wednesday) I showered and went I got out of the shower I lotion from head to toe. I put my lotion and perfume on the sink counter as a visual reminder to do this after every shower. Perfume to make me feel good. Then I washed my sheets when I washed my clothes so everything was clean and fresh.

Monday I also did a little research. Some suggestions I found was a daily devotional, gratitude journal, keeping a journal, etc. After looking some more, I signed up for a Holiday Devotional I should get by email to get me started. I have been trying to do a bible study daily which is taking up too much time then I get upset on how much time I've spend on it and stop doing it, then I feel like a bad Christian. I just need to scale it back to a small devotional daily.

I asked a Sparkie friend once how to do a Bible Journal and she told me to do a online one where you can cut and paste a verse that means something to you and write about it. All the research I did told me to get paper and pen and write down stuff. It helps get in your mind.

Tuesday I decided to go shopping for a hard journal for my gratitude journal and found one. I will share my 1st entry tomorrow.

Tuesday I also wore a nice sweater just for myself.

Day 17 of Autumn self care is strive to create more balance in your life, This is what I am working for.

This is a work in progress. I am hoping to add so much more.
