A small step forward

I'm on a women's bowling team and our league bowls every Wednesday night from fall - spring. I usually eat out before we start and partake in a few drinks. Last night I went for a chiropractor treatment for my plantar fascitiis instead of meeting the other team members for dinner as I usually do. This meant that I either skip dinner, wait until I get home (which is late) or choose something to eat at the bowling alley. I chose to eat at the bowling alley.
The new menu shows calories on everything so this really made me stop and think before selecting. I decided on a kid's meal of chicken tenders and french fries; it was the least amount of calories. I also chose not to drink so my evening meal was less than what I usually consume. I'm pretty proud of myself but I know that this is only a small step toward the bigger goal.

    That is a 'huge' step what you did! .. Very smart to leave out drinks; and choosing a child's plate. (Hope your plantar fasciitis is improving; I know first hand (or should I say first-foot lol the pain involved! (had it for over 7 years when working a job where I was on my feet all day!) ... Take care and good job!

    emoticon emoticon emoticon We seem to be running on parallel paths. I'm working on making better small choices. I always get discouraged by big picture thinking; I do much better congratulating myself on a collection of small positive actions. Hang in there. We can make this work. Keep up the good choices! Mine today: I didn't have time to pack lunch, but I resisted baked potato day in the cafeteria. I ate a large apple with peanut butter. I'll have my banana and some nuts midafternoon. I haven't touched the office goodies all week. Whew!
