It's depressing when you see it for real

Tuesday, October 30, 2018

We are in the renewal season for insurance. During this time, we are required to chose a health plan, update/verify beneficiary, and fill out a health survey. Filling out the survey brought sheer sadness to me. I know that I have high hopes for bettering myself, but I'm probably heavier than last year and the overall score was worse.
I need to find that drive to get myself into healthy habits that will benefit my weight loss. My feet are still inflamed but they are getting better as I'm getting treatments. I haven't really had an exercise routine since my ACL injury in April. I'm bowling once a week and that's about it. I try to stretch and do exercises every day but honestly, I don't always get them done. I'm really concentrating on eating more fruits and veggies. Today, I chose to eat an apple instead of a bagel....small step but hey...it's a win.

I have 5 months (or thereabouts since the date isn't set in stone yet) before my daughter's wedding. It would be nice if I could lose 50 pounds by then but that is probably aiming way too high. Twenty-one weeks @ 2 pounds/week = 42....that's my goal!
I'm starting with food....adding as much exercise as possible. I know that if I stick to the plan, I will make my goal. I just need to focus!! Praying for strength to push myself.

You can live in a gym but if your eating is out of whack, all the exercise in the world won't take off the weight. Cutting back on calories won't help if you're always hungry. it will only set you up for a binge. Work on an eating plan that is nutritionally sound and keeps you full and satisfied.

You can do it! Tracking is your best friend. I found this out. The other helpful options on SP are very necessary too, but the tracking really brings it home! emoticon emoticon
