SPARK COACH CHALLENGE: share goals (OK - here goes)...........

I think my main goal is to become more physically fit especially as I'm get older (turned 70 this year)...... I think weight loss kinda goes along with that goal since I am very overweight.

Unfortunately I HATE to exercise.
I also have serious back problems which inhibit exercise.
I also suffer with foot pain on and off.

I do believe that strength training is essential (especially for older people).
I also think I should go out for a walk every day (have been doing this pretty regularly).
I should not forget that stretching is also essential.

After I get these things down, perhaps I can add more strenuous activity to become fit.

Problem is (besides that I HATE exercise) the more you do the more your body gets used to and then you have to do at least that same amount of time to just stay even.

    You need to find an exercise that does not feel like exercise. There are lots of videos out there on youtube. You can look for ReFit (which is dancing), Yoga, Aerobics, Zumba. I'm sure if you need something with less movement (because of your back) there are videos out there too. I find it easier when I exercise to a video. Makes the time seem to go by faster. Lots of great videos on here too! Good luck - you can do it!

    Have you given water aerobics a try? I know several who have your challenges at my club who are in their 70s and 80s who have the same issues and water aerobics has given them new life. If it worked it could be a great solution....I wish you well
