Week 1 done and a modest loss
Monday, November 05, 2018
Its been a week of focus, tracking all of my food and following my workout plan. I was excited to get on the scale this morning and see a 1 lb loss. It may not seem like a lot, but I'm trying to figure out the many food sensitivities I seem to have and resulting inflammation. I had bloodwork done in May because I wasn't feeling well and it seemed to be related to food. It turns out I am highly sensitive to 50 different foods. Now I know the controversy around the validity of these tests, but I am experimenting with the foods identified to see if it makes a difference when I cut them out...and it does. It probably wasn't such a great idea to do the test just a couple of months before I went on a cooking tour in Tuscany, but it did make me more conscious of what I could and couldn't eat to feel well. Don't get me wrong, I tried everything and it was all good.

I was just a little pickier about not eating things I knew would cause an instant reaction. #1 on the list was the gelato! Two spoonfuls and I had a reaction. That's ok though because I didn't go to Italy to eat gelato, I had weaned myself off of ice cream and most dairy years ago.
So in week two my plan is to continue to eliminate the foods on my high sensitive list, diligently track all my food and up my exercise. I found in week one my workouts were good (Beachbody LIIFT4), but not enough activity so I'll add in my training for a 10 km race I have next May and get on the treadmill.
This has become my go to snack when I'm craving something sweet. Just one little box does the trick at 45 calories.
Have a great week everyone!
