I'm back to tracking. Not managing it every day, but about every other day. It's been informative. One day, for example, I found myself eating 3,000 Calories. That was incorporating fast food for no good reason. Not hungry, just wanted the salty fries. Yesterday I didn't quite hit 1,500. Trying for 1,850, and staying around 150 carbs.
On the one hand, 3,000 Cal sucks. On the other, I haven't gained much weight (about 4 pounds since my lowest point after pregnancy), despite eating like this, so the breast feeding is probably on my side. I'm about 8 pounds over what I started at when I got pregnant, so 212 now. Tried tracking my food before my meals today, so far breakfast and lunch. Breakfast got me about 550 Cal, scrambled eggs and cheese, which puts me close to on target. Added in a cup of almond milk for a snack. My husband made a chicken pot pie for lunch. I put the ingredients into Sparkrecipe and tracked that. Add in a banana and an oz of cashews, and that takes me to a little over 1,050 Cal once lunch is done. Still a bit short going into dinner, especially considering we tend to low cal dinners, usually something like baked chicken and a vegetable. I should probably snack on something this afternoon. Maybe some celery with Opa Greek yogurt ranch, or maybe some bell peppers with hummus.
Tracking is as annoying as I remember it to be though. It takes too much time, of which I have precious little. But it's good to be aware of what's going on.
But, I have a lab exam on Wednesday, so I better get back to studying while baby sleeps. I've got about half an hour until she wakes up. My poor husband barely slept last night due to insomnia, so I'm hoping to not have to rely on him too much tonight. He usually takes baby in the evening after work so I can study, but, it'd be good to give him a night off.
