Where does my joy come from today.....

.....the Snow More Excuses Winter Challenge started, and I am participating on the Pink Flamingo Team. For years I participated in the 5 % Challenges as a Shooting Star, and then a huge Burn Out hit me beginning of the year. I didn't track my food anymore, I avoided exercise, my parents came to visit over the summer and my daughter followed after that. There was lots of food, snacks, laughter, fun, but focus was not on health. Except for my Dad, who at 81 walks 2-3 hours every day. Summers in NY can be extremely hot, and this summer was no exception. I did hike with him as much as I could, and it was amazing to see him still in such great health. I did most of the huffing and puffing at 49. So I am thankful to be part of the Pink Flamingos, even though I miss being a Shooting Star. The BLC have a very interesting way of encouraging exercise. There is a printable game board for week 1, a 12 Days of Christmas workout for each day, and fun challenges coming. That is right up my alley since I am a gamer, so I am all set up in my guest/workout room with my yoga mat, weights, my step aerobics step and can't wait to see what else they come up with. Already got 15 min of "games" in this morning. I am going to love these next 10 weeks.

..... my parents' Christmas package arrived yesterday filled with beautiful presents and lots of goodies. I will pace myself and track everything I eat, but it is just so nice to get such lovely gifts. There are nice decorations to put up, and some surprises for Christmas day.

....our sump pump is working again, the pipes that were frozen are defrosted and my basement is in the process of drying out.

I love the title of your blog. It's so sometimes to remember how lucky we are. Your dad sounds like an awesome man. Good for him and good for you! You are getting back on track and you are going to kick butt! Keep up the good work! Debbie

Nice recap of the BL challenge. You will love the Pink flamingos! No doubt! I hope to be walking through my 80s. Thus, I have made an appointment with the foot doctor for next week. Hopefully I get some answers as what I can do to make my feet work better without pain and stiffness. Enjoy the games. They are fun. I especially like the dancing.

I am glad to read you found a team to renew your journey to live a healthy life. I also burned out on the 5% Challenge and have been gone for over a year now. I am sort of my own team now, and have been doing better reaching the goals I have set.

Good luck on your new journey and hope to see you around more. Take care, and I'm still looking for the perfect shawl to work on this winter. I want to find a lacy type of pattern with open stitches. So my search continues.

    Take care Ute.
