Mad Dawg: Catch Up

Sunday, December 23, 2018

Sparkers! I'm still sparking, just not on SparkPeople.

So much has happened since I last posted anything, which was back in August. In chronological order, oldest to most recent:

1. But for the grace of God, I was not killed in a car accident.
2. I went back into therapy. (See #1, #5)
3. I bought an all electric car, a 2018 Nissan LEAF.
4. I dyed my hair purple.
5. I went through an extremely busy period of time at work. Silly busy. Anxiety levels extremely high.
6. I finally had a doctor take me seriously about my low blood sugar. She sent me for tests and I've been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia.
7. My doctor referred me to a Registered Dietician who made changes to my diet.
8. I freaked out because I felt like everything I understood about nutrition got turned upside down. (It didn't really, but I was overwhelmed.) (See #5 and #1.)
9. Work got even more stressful than it was at #5.
10. My beloved Andrew made a career change and left Spectrum.
11. I dyed my hair pink.
12. One of my major contracts took an enormous cut and I had to eliminate a program in order to close a big budget shortfall.
13. I had to let go of an employee. (See #12, #9, #5)
14. My contract for Spectrum was up for renewal and I decided to not renew. (See #10)
15. I joined a new gym today.

I'll fill in with details on the high points tomorrow. For now, I feel like life is returning to its normal level of nuttiness.

So glad you are alive and getting better with the hypoglycemia. 2018 has been a rough year for me also emotionally as I have lost several people important to me, and there has been family squabbles I had no part in creating but were very difficult to navigate. Some of that is still going on, but I am still hoping 2019 will be a better year. Sounds like you need a better year too. Hang in there! We are survivors!

    1. So very glad you are alive. Pink or Purple. No matter.
    2. So very glad you dropped in for a visit and I hope you are able to be a regular again.
    3. So very sorry to read about Andrew and your work losses. What are you doing to help you recover from over the top stress? (See #2)
    4. Sounds like you have not forgotten how to laugh. (See #3)

Your presence in Sparkville has been missed. Good to see you are getting support (#1 … the grace of God, #2, #6, #7, #15).

My gym contract expired less than a week ago and I've not yet renewed. Still pondering.

Good to hear that life is returning to a *normal* more manageable (?) level of nuttiness. emoticon

May the peace and blessings of the season be yours. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Oh my goodness! Busy, busy, and doing what you do best: never giving up! Totally get #4 and #11 as potential protest votes against the rest of the lot! A normal, as opposed to over the top, level of nuttiness might just be welcome, eh?

wow! You have been through a LOT! I wish you a merry Christmas and PEACE in 2019.

Sorry to hear about your accident. NOT what you needed for sure. Hope you like your Nissan LEAF.

Hard to be put in the position of having to cut employees. **SIGH*** Major stress.

Wishing you all the best @ your new gym.

    Hugs and hang in there.
