Vegan On The Fence

Wednesday, December 26, 2018

I’m seriously thinking of going vegan. I don’t eat much carbs per day - I never eat bread - if i do it’s Sprouted - I also eat 5 grain organic oatmeal- and quinoa- I would love to give up cheese. I have been struggling with HBP- it’s loaded with sodium & let’s not even mention GMO s .... okay so I occasionally eat fish - it’s not a favorite- neither is Beef, Chicken- or pork. I’m not a fan of eggs either. I’ve been doing lots of research . I could do this ..... so any Thoughts ? I’d love positivities... please no negativity 🙏 Thank you in advance 💕

You can find some great vegan recipes for free at OhSheGlows.com and she has a gorgeous best selling cookbook. Her recipes usually take a while though.

For me I probably eat vegetarian most days, some of those days completely vegan, but I do best having a little chicken, grass fed beef , fish or eggs in my life now and then. I also think it's best to do whole foods and I find the processed vegan stuff (fake meat) does not agree with me.

In 2015 I switch to a WFPBNO diet. I followed McDougall. I lost 85 lbs, dropped my A1c, ditched both my cholesterol and B/P meds. I feel amazing! I don't do portion control...I still have 65 lbs to lose. You can do it. Commit to 30 days.

I was a vegan for two stints, 4 years and 2 years with out much cheating. Might have been some eggs in those rolls at times. No meat, no fish, no eggs, no milk, no meat products at all. I had leather shoes still.

It does aid in weight loss if your problem is meat with fat in it. Most vegans give up sugar too for the most part. A few cookies on holidays. You need to be careful about substituting other fattening food for the meat (sugar or fats). Coffee too.

It does seem to help with mood swings due to diet or foods. Also I felt consistently lighter in moods etc .... Not so much anger to deal with. Of course animal fats are what clog up your arteries so it IS healthier. Better for the animals too. lol.

It didn't seem to help any at all with spiritual growth. It was kind of boring but a diet is just food and not a way of life if you know what I mean. Food belongs further down the list of important things, not number one.

When I started eating everything again food often tasted greasy.

I lost over 100 pounds in 3 months by eating 100% vegan but then it slowed down and stopped.

It is hard to find vegan restaurants or vegan plates without some compromise. rolls, etc ... cheese was a problem sometimes.

I recommend it for losing weight and better health and resolving long standing emotional or personality complaints.

Nor did the world around me change much. You might think it would respect a vegan more. Nope.

I have been a pescatarian for almost four years. I recently deleted white flour, oil, and dairy from my food plan. I don’t eat eggs, milk, cheese. I do eat whole wheat and multigrain items. Have you watched the movie “forks over knives”?
