Yes, it's been over 13 months since my last blog. Yes, I stopped as I felt it was all about me and I didn't like it much. I will start posting as I said I would earlier but it will be sharing what I've learned on OUR Journey.
A lot has happened since then. I'm happy to say it's all for the good.
This has become my second home.
I've always had the wrong impression of The Y. When my Training Partner, who is the Office Manager at The Y, asked me to Strength Train with her, I agreed with trepidation.
Little did I know there was a hidden community inside those walls! It's a diverse family whose purpose is to get healthy, stay healthy or just find social companionship.
I found I could have fun with my Training Partner while getting a Solid Workout down!
After 3 months and physical changes galore, I ran into a Staff Member who was running the Livestrong Program. As I will be a 10 year Cancer Survivor in March, I asked her about it. She told me I was way beyond the program as I was an experienced Runner and Triathlete. She also noticed my Strength Training on the floor. I told her that I wanted to pay it forward and Volunteer! She said that would be wonderful. "Wait, we have a Team coming to educate new Livestrong Program Instructors! Would you be interested!"
Did I just hear the words coming out of her mouth? In my head, I was already thinking about how I would motivate and inspire others to celebrate Survival! I could see making them laugh, having fun, and improving their health! "Yes, Yes, Yes! " She asked if she could get my contact info from my Training Partner. "Absolutely!"
Working joyfully to becoming healthier was always a reward for me. Being given this opportunity to give back and help others totally overwhelmed me. I believe in making your own destiny. I also believe in a higher Source. As with everything else on my Healthy Lifestyle Journey, I will give it my all. I am thankful for my dedication to my health! Hard Work Prevails!
I am thankful for so many who motivate me and inspire me. I'm so thankful for my Training Partner. It's hard to find a good one and I was lucky!
Stay Strong, No Excuses, Never Quit, and Enjoy Life!
