Week one down!

So, I admit, I'm not on Sparkpeople to loose a lot of weight. I don't really need to. I am currently in the healthy range for my BMI and I don't dislike the way that my body looks. I know - burn the witch! emoticon My problem is, that can change so quickly, because I have no consistency. Well, not a lot of consistency. My weight has fluctuated quite significantly since I left home for university at 18, 13 years ago. I've gone from my highest of 11stone 7 lbs (161lbs) down to 9 stone 5 (138lbs). And that fluctuation has happened through some very unhealthy habits.

Currently, I'm at 156 lbs. You may think that I'm upset with that, but although it is close to my highest weight, my body could not look more different. I'm still fitting into UK size 12 comfortably because my body is more muscle than fat (when I didn't exercise and was at my highest, I was starting to struggle to get into a size 14) and I don't mind the shape of my body. So I'm on Sparkpeople to keep my body image healthy and my healthy habits consistent. I'm trying not to obsess over losing weight, so I've adopted a slow weight loss target and am really focusing on quality of my diet. It's not the"Normal" NYE resolution, but losing a ton of weight has never been a successful resolution for me before. Instead of trying to shrink myself, I'm going to care for myself. Let's see what a little kindness can do.
