150 pounds to lose? No problem!
Sunday, January 13, 2019
Here's my starting point.
At my last bariatric doctor's appointment, just before the New Year, I weighed 349 pounds with 134.8 pounds of body fat. My anatomical height is 6'3", although my fat is pulling my spine out of alignment so my functional height is only 6'0". My goal weight is 199 pounds at 6'3" and the heaviest body fat I can have at that weight and still be fit is 35.6 pounds. So I'm 150 pounds overweight with 99.2 pounds of excess body fat. I also have 65.9 pounds of muscle mass.
My goal for the year is to lose 104 pounds of weight including at least 78 pounds of body fat, and to gain 20-25 pounds of muscle by powerlifting, HIIT cardio, steady cardio on off days, and a prudent diet. My doctor thinks this is reasonable, and that losing all 99 pounds of fat (just under 2 pounds a week) is possible.
Major weight loss, here I come!
