Intro to Spark People

Sunday, January 13, 2019

I explored Spark People a few years ago on the recommendation of my doctor. I downloaded the app, which gave me a limited view and feel for what I was ultimately exposed to, after being given the “Welcome” 2 free weeks exploratory period. I found it to be totally positive and interactive! A community who shares their joys as well as those times of frustration dealing with life along with the personal challenge to lose weight. Very helpful are the blogs, some so powerful I was moved beyond weight loss into desiring to holistically be a better me. The coaching tips, the videos the accountability through record keeping, all excellent! I’m coming close to the end of the free introduction and have recently bought a Fitbit. I’m going to see how the two sites work together.

I can not agree with you more. I have been on this site for several years. I have been successful for what I wanted. I am looking for a healthier me as this year I will be 70. (It sounds old to me). Although I was not at goal of 175 I took time off at 183 to try to maintain. That was May and by my doctors appointment in December I had put on 8 pounds and was down to almost no exercise.

I am back to day one (a little hard to swallow but I did it to myself) I started this week with goals to journal and commit to 10 minutes of exercise daily. The exercise cam back more easily than the healthy eating but I feel successful.

Thanks for allowing me to blog on your blog, have a great day.
