Week one !

Hello there my name a kay I am 26 years old and am starting my weight loss journey. I have tried to lose weight in the past but this time I am as committed as ever I even got my fiancé on board as well as my mom and my sister . I am making sure this time I do it the right way I have all my support in place and people to push me to go to the gym and work out as well as a gym membership witch is a huge step for me I have never paid for a gym membership for more than a month and this time I will be locked in for a year witch is my motivation to use something I pay for . I have been overweight a good chunk of my life and this is my time to change that wel I am still young ! I will be writing weekly blogs with things I learned tips and tricks and of course any progress I made so let’s get started !
So I am now one week into my weight loss journey and I have learnt ALOT !
1. This is not going to happen overnight - I kept weighing my self everyday for the first few days and was disappointed if I didn’t lose weight I couldn’t believe that I did all that work and nothing ! This was definitely the wrong approach ,from this point on I will only be weighing myself once a week :)
2. Having a gym membership is a huge plus in the winter and if you like walking a recommend a gym with an indoor track like mine picking a gym for me there was a few items I was looking for they were a fair pricing , different areas to workout not one big room I like the privacy every now and then, friendly staff, a pool as I have a niece that loves to swim and so do I , and classes that were for people like me beginners who were just starting there weight loss journey . I found all of this at our local complex and a huge bonus was the horseshoe walking or running track . So my advice pick what you want in a gym do your research and look around don’t just go for the first gym you see if I would have picked that first one I would have been at a gym with a wide open fitness area, super small change rooms and no extras ! Research is very important also remember to find out if they have a registration fee and if you are on a contract for a certain amount of time !
3. Pre portion your food put how many or how much of the item is in it and the calories I found this was the best for me cause I was able to quickly grab my baggies portion to just the right amount and head out the door ! It also is good to help you keep track of your calories if for some reason you don’t have access to the app to record your food intake like me out at camp I have no access to the app so this will work amazing for me .
4. Watch your portion and such this app really did show me how much protein etc I was I taking and I realized I am not I taking anywhere near what I should be in terms of protein this is when I decided to start eating foods with lots protein
My last words
So what I got from this week is be aware of how much and of what your eating, pick your gym wisely each gym may fit what some are looking for but not everyone remember you will spend a lot of time there, drink lots of water you will feel better and you will stay hydrated, work hard and remember that your success will not show overnight it does take time :)
Progress for this week
This week I have lost 5 pounds and can feel my body feeling better I have a bad knee and since working out it is way less painful ! I am going to keep working hard to have more progress to report next week till then bye for now :)
